Fig is a huge deciduous shrub or a little tree with ashy bark and a loose crown which can grow to 3-4m height and 2-3m width. The shiny dark green leaves decorate the garden with their 3-5 lobes. It has sweet and big crops which ripen in September. It prefers a soil with good permeability and moderate water- demand. Fig forbears frost to -15C° but its roots should be covered. The delicious crop can be eaten right after picking, dried or as a jam.
