Issai kiwi is a self-fertile cultivar, so it does not need a male partner to bear fruit; even a single plant is enough for you to enjoy the taste of delicious fruits. It can grow to a height of about 2-3 m, but needs a support system. Its fruits are small, miniature (3-5 cm), green, smooth-skinned and oblong. They ripen in late August and September. The fruit skin is thin, so it can be eaten without peeling. The fruit tastes especially sweet and juicy. It grows quickly. A partially shaded spot is ideal for it, with well-structured, nutrient-rich soil. Its water needs are moderate. It is especially healthy thanks to its high content of vitamin C, iron and vitamin E. Its calorie content is low. The fruits can be eaten fresh and used in salads.
