Aesculus carnea Briotti

Height: 0,5–0,6 m

Red horse chestnut Briotti can be a real garden ornament with its lavish red flowers. It reaches 12-15 meters in height and has a rounded habit. It blooms in April and May with red or pink flower clusters. Its fruits are rarely spiny, and the palmately compound leaves have wavy edges and widen in the middle. It likes a sunny to partially shaded spot and well-structured, nutrient-rich soil. Its water needs are moderate, and it needs watering after planting and during longer droughts. It is an excellent choice as a specimen tree or as an avenue tree.
