Berberis thunbergii Helmond Pillar

Height: 0,5–0,6 m

Helmond Pillar is a large, deciduous, thorny shrub that grows to 1.5-2 m in height, with shoots that grow upward, making it a distinctly columnar variety. It has a dense system of shoots and dark, greenish burgundy foliage. Its small, yellow flowers bloom in late April and early May. It prefers a sunny spot and well-structured, nutrient-rich soil. Its water needs are moderate. It can be planted as a standalone plant, in combination with other perennial plants or as a hedge.
