Cotoneaster procumbens Queen of Carpets

A spreading, densely branched, evergreen shrub. Its height can reach 10-15 cm, and its width 1.5-2.5 m. Its round leaves are very small, glossy, dark green and leathery. It produces white flowers in May-June, but its main decorative value develops in autumn, when bright red fruits cover its branches. A sunny to partially shaded spot and well-structured, nutrient-rich soil are ideal for it. Its water needs are moderate. It is an excellent choice as a ground cover or combined with other perennials.
