Hosta fortunei Francee

Beautiful long-lived perennial, the queen of shade in gardens. Some varieties reach up to a meter in height, though most stay under 40cm. The Francee hosta variety reaches a height of about 65cm and a width of about 60-120cm. The plant's main asset is the broad, oval, heart-shaped leaves, whose coloring is incredible. This variety has olive-green foliage with a white edge. The leaves can be up to 15cm long. It loses its leaves in autumn but sprouts again in spring. The lily-like flowers appear in summer on tall stalks. It likes moist but well-drained soil, and shade or partial shade. It can be planted in pots or in the garden in combination with other plants.
