Hydrangea macrophylla Doppio Azzurro

Garden hydrangea Doppio Azzurro is a compact, deciduous ornamental shrub of round shape that grows to about 1-1.2 m in height and 0.9-1.2 m in width. Its leaves are green and round. Its double, light blue flowers bloom from July. The flower color is affected by the soil pH. In acidic soil it will be light blue, while in alkaline soil the flowers will be light pink. It needs a partially shaded spot and well-structured, slightly acidic soil. Its water needs are high. In case of severe frosts, young plants should be covered. It can be planted in a pot, but also combined in perennial beds.
