Kolkwitzia amabilis

Height: 0,4–0,6 m

A deciduous shrub with a dense, upward-pointing system of shoots that shows its decorative value from mid to late spring. At that time, it is covered with small, baby pink, fragrant flowers that attract bees and other pollinating insects. Its foliage consists of oval, dark, bluish-green leaves that turn red in autumn. It grows best in a sunny or partly shaded spot and well-structured soil. Its light, grayish-brown bark, which peels in winter, catches the eye. Its height and width reach 2-3m. It can be planted as a specimen plant, or in combination with other perennials.
