Magnolia Yellow Lantern is a deciduous shrub or small tree. Its height can reach 4-8m and its width 2.5-3m. It blooms in spring, before the leaves emerge, in March-April, with large, light yellow, tulip-shaped flowers. It requires medium light, so it can be planted in a sunny or partially shaded spot. It grows best in well-drained, acidic soil rich in nutrients. Water needs are high, so it should be watered, especially during droughts. The best location is one sheltered from strong winds and frost. It can be planted as a specimen, with bulbs and low conifers, or in combination with perennials.
