Its foliage consists of 8-12 cm long, pointed-elliptical, serrated leaves that are bronze when they appear, later bright green, and in autumn turn orange-red. Slightly fragrant pink flowers bloom before the leaves emerge, in late April or early May. It can be planted in both sunny and partially shaded spots. It likes well-structured, nutrient-rich soil. Water requirements are moderate. Watering is needed after planting. It can be planted as a specimen tree, in a park or as an avenue tree.
