Evergreen jasmine, or star jasmine, is a climbing evergreen plant with ovate leaves that grows to a height of about 3-4 m. It produces small, fragrant, white star-shaped flowers from May to August, which later turn creamy white. It needs a sunny to partially shaded spot and well-drained soil. Its water requirements are moderate: during the growing season keep the soil constantly moist, but in winter wait for the soil to dry out between waterings. It is moderately frost-hardy; planting in a spot sheltered from the wind is advisable, and in case of frost it needs to be covered, but it is best for the plant to overwinter in a cool, bright place during winter. An ideal plant for balconies and terraces.
