Elaeagnus ebbingei Compacta

Height: 0,3–0,5 m

A semi-evergreen ornamental shrub about 1-1.5 m tall and 0.5-1 m wide. It grows quickly, and the shoots, leaves and fruits are covered with silvery, shimmering hairs. Its small, fragrant yellow flowers bloom in the leaf axils in autumn. They are often barely noticeable, but their scent can be detected from a distance. It grows well in sunny to partly shaded spots, in well-structured soil. It tolerates polluted air well. Its water needs are moderate. It can be used to create a very decorative hedge, pruned or unpruned. It is an ideal windbreak and an excellent forage plant for bees.
