Hydrangea macrophylla Leuchtfeuer

A compact, deciduous ornamental plant with a bushy shape. It can reach a height of up to 1m and a width of 1.2m. Its leaves are dark green and oval. The flowers are large, about 20cm in diameter. It blooms from July to September with dark pink, almost red flowers. It needs medium light; a partially shaded or shaded spot is ideal. It requires well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Its water needs are higher. The flowers always form on the previous year's shoots, so it is important to cover it over winter, which avoids freezing and a lack of flowering. It can be planted in pots or gardens as a standalone plant or in combination with other plants.
