Hypericum calycinum

Originating from Asia Minor and southeastern Europe, this St. John's wort spreads extremely fast, forming a continuous weed-suppressing carpet in a short time. It can reach a height of 30-40 cm and is a perennial shrub with an upright shoot system and a spreading habit. In early summer it produces large yellow flowers. It likes a partially sunny, semi-shaded spot and well-structured soil. Its water needs are moderate. It is evergreen, so it keeps its foliage even in winter. With its spectacular cascade of flowers and hardy nature, it can bring to life almost any difficult-to-plant area under trees.
