Yucca filamentosa Color Guard

Color Guard is an exceptionally spectacular and hardy perennial. Its special feature is its dramatic, sword-shaped leaves arranged in a rosette, with a bright yellow stripe in the middle and a green edge. This variegated foliage is decorative all year round, and in winter it often takes on a pink tint. In summer it bears bell-shaped, creamy flowers on a tall flower stalk, which further increases its decorative value. It likes a sunny spot. Among soils, it prefers loose, sandy soil rich in nutrients. Watering is needed only while the plants are young and not later. Thanks to its drought tolerance and low maintenance requirements, it is an ideal choice for modern, Mediterranean or rock gardens.
