Magnolia grandiflora Purpan

Height: 1,3–1,7 m

Magnolia Purpan is an evergreen tree that grows to about 8-10 m in height and 3-4 m in width. The crown is conical and points upward. The leaves are dark green with a glossy surface, and their underside is rusty brown. Its large flowers, 20-24 cm in diameter, white or creamy white, bloom from June to August. It grows best in a sunny spot. Loose, well-draining, nutrient-rich, acidic soil is ideal for it. Its water needs are high, and during longer droughts it requires regular watering. It needs winter protection for 2-3 years after planting. It can be planted as a specimen plant in larger gardens.
