Perovskia Blue Spire

Russian sage grows to a height of about 1-1.5 m, with a slender, upright, slightly spreading, grayish-white felted shoot system, and an irregular shape. Its gray-green, downy, deeply cut leaves have an aromatic scent when rubbed. Its small lavender-colored flowers bloom in slender, terminal panicles 30-50 cm long from July to September and attract not only the human eye but also many pollinating insects. It likes a sunny spot and well-structured soil, but also grows well in sandy soil. Its water needs are moderate. Older plants tolerate drought well. A perfect choice as a specimen plant, for both country and Mediterranean gardens.
