Weigela florida Abel Carriere

Weigela Abel Carriere is a richly branched, dense, spreading deciduous shrub that can grow to 1.5-2m in height and 1-1.3m in width. Its leaves are oval, medium-sized and green, but when planted in a sunny spot, the leaves can turn burgundy. Its light pink, funnel-shaped flowers bloom in great numbers from May to the end of June. A second flowering often occurs in August. It prefers sun and tolerates light shade, but then it will have fewer flowers. It likes well-structured soil rich in nutrients. Its water needs are high. It can be shaped after flowering. It can be planted as a specimen plant, or in combination with other perennials; it is a perfect choice for any garden.
